BIS robotics team advances to state

The BIS Bacon Bots

The Bellefontaine Intermediate School robotics team is state bound.

The BIS Bacon Bots qualified for state at the Pioneer VEXiq Classic in Elyria on Saturday.

It was the final regular season tournament.

Members Griffin Burkhardt, Garrett Gossard, Matthew Torsell, Camden Vollrath, and Jerome Wickham all worked together to score their best scores in their driving challenges and autonomous challenges.

The Chiefs also earned the Energy Award for being recognized as the team displaying the most enthusiasm and passion for robotics and enhancing the experience for all involved.

The Bacon Bots will compete at the state tournament in Marion on Friday.

Lauren Burkhardt is the Bacon Bots coach. She is assisted by Sandi Chervenak and Jordan Reser.
